Walked in with our reservation and were seated quickly. The menu is small but their food is delicious. Snack, appetizers, and main course were worth good selections. They will offer to take your coat. Try their drink menus, nice selections to choose from as well.

Fried chicken time, when I asked the waiter fried chicken or steak, his face lit up, fried chicken it was, cheese grits and greens, served with honey and something like Frank's hot sauce on the side which was perfect taste combo. The table had Tuna and a bunch of sides, it was all done perfect, the kitchen backs up all the goodness. But the coffee was not strong (for me), I guess that is understood for night time but I like it strong, the chocolate cake was not heavy chocolate flavor, I guess they keep it light neat the end :). All and all, it was a perfect, service was old school simply good.
Thank you

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves up some seriously delicious food, then Timber & Salt is definitely worth a visit. The menu features a wide range of dishes, from perfectly cooked salmon to dry-aged New York steak that's simply fantastic.
One standout dish is the salmon, which is cooked to perfection with a crunchy skin that adds an extra layer of texture and flavor to each bite. The dish is served with a variety of sides, including homemade fries that are cooked to perfection.
The dry-aged New York steak is also a must-try, with a deep, rich flavor that's perfectly complemented by the blue cheese butter. And let's not forget about the fries, which are some of the best I've had in a long time. They're perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making for the ultimate comfort food.
If you're looking for a great appetizer to start your meal, the deviled eggs are a must-try. They're simply phenomenal, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of seasoning. The pickled habaneros can be a bit spicy for some, but the dish is still amazing even without them.
Overall, I highly recommend Timber & Salt for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. So if you're in the area, be sure to give it a try!

Cocktails here are fantastic. Probably the best in all of redwood city. The food here is also really tasty. They headline steaks, but the steaks are probably the least interesting thing on the menu. The seasonal pastas and non-steak items are often the tastiest.

This place is all about the booze. We sat outside because it was a nice evening. It’s located on a quiet corner, the is plenty of parking in garages on the same block. You do have to pay after an hour and a half I believe. I paid $5, not bad. Looking at the drink menu, I didn’t recognize half the ingredients. When I asked the server what he likes he went through the whole menu and explained the ingredients, the flavors, the origins. He made everything sound intriguing and delicious. We selected the Aztec and the Wake up Tomorrow. Both of them were so so good. The flavor was unique but familiar. Perfectly mixed. We just got apps and salad to eat. All tasty. The arancini was good, surprisingly spicy with the Calabrian chili. At the end of the meal we got the cheesecake, it was so so tart with the passion fruit and kiwi. It’s a sharable size too! Staff super friendly and knowledgeable, will definitely come back here! Cute and unique place with cool vibes.

This place is so lovely! Gorgeous, warm space. Food was delicious - my favorite was the mashed potatoes, truly. My cocktail was so excellent as well. But the service was amazing! Everyone was so kind and attentive. Our server Kyla was especially wonderful - very sweet and helpful when we had questions about the menu. All in all a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!

First, staff was amazing. I mean amazing and we've been to many restaurants in the area. Brussel sprouts were 5*, Burger and fries 5* and the beet salad was good, not great... More beets. Cocktails were incredible and I could see coming here for happy hour. Wish they had a few vegetarian options.

The menu may be short, but every dish is outstanding. We started with the mushroom soup, Brussels sprouts, and bao — and each was a hit. The soup was hot, buttery, and deeply comforting on a chilly evening, while the bao and Brussels sprouts were exceptionally flavored and uniquely done.
For mains, we tried the smash burger and the Chilean sea bass — you honestly can’t go wrong with either. The burger was juicy, smoky, and perfectly seasoned, and the sea bass, served over a bed of sweet corn kernels, was absolutely exceptional.
Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance was great, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
A must-try spot in Redwood City for flavorful food and a cozy evening out.

We seated at the bar as the host told us there was nothing left that night. So, yes, it was busy, even on a Tuesday night. We mostly came over because of their cocktails menu and it didn't disappoint. They have a short list of "permanent" and a longer lost of seasonal drinks. We also had dinner. They claim to cook their steaks at 1400 degrees. I tried the NY steak and, yes, it was cooked to perfection, but I was not blown away with the meat quality. I wish they has a hanger steak instead. The brussel sprouts were some of th best we ever had. A little on th sweet side, but still great and the portion was huge. The service was hot and cold. The main bartender was super friendly but the second bartender was a bit clueless and too busy to help us. We were basically left alone for most of the time. Food took a long time to arrive and they got me th wrong sauce for th steak (they corrected it afterwards). Overall, this was a nice place for dinner and drinks, but there are definitely blind spots, particularly in the service.
